Facts About Photography History
-The ‘Kodak’ camera was developed by George Eastman and went on sale in 1888, pioneering the use of photographic film. It was simple box camera with a single shutter speed and fixed focus lens.
-Polaroid cameras hit the market in 1948, allowing photographers to produce images instantly. A special chemical process was used to used to produce prints from the negatives in under a minute.
-The first commercial DSLR (digital single lens reflex) was launched by Kodak in 1991.
-The First Photograph was lost for almost 50 years before historians rediscovered it.
-The First Photograph is one-of-a-kind. There are no other copies of it anywhere in the world.
I think I learned alot throught the still image part of this course. My favorite part of the still image was probably the pin hole camera project. I never knew you could take a photo like that. Also with the pin hole camera project I started to understand what f-stop meant more. I think I learned alot about phtoshop, I think that was probably my biggest accomplishment. I had used it before but with this class I got to explore the tools more and just play around with it. I never knew how hard it really was to devolop a photo, I didnt know it was so time consuming, im glad I got to experience that.
